Adele may be on a musical hiatus as she adapts to life as a mother, but that hasn’t stopped the performance requests from flowing in.
For, after much ado about whether the Londoner would take to the stage at the Golden Globes or the Oscars this year, it has been confirmed that the 24 year old will perform at the latter on February 24th.
Details after the jump…
Crowing almost two years at the top, the singer will perform ‘Skyfall’ at the 85th Annual Academy Awards in honor of the blockbuster James Bond movie of the same name. The song, which hit top ten on many a global singles tally last Fall, is nominated in the Best Original Song category – and is the first “Bond song” to do so since 1981.
Speaking on both her performance and nomination, she said:
“It’s an honour to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again. It’s something I’ve never experienced and probably only ever will once!”
