Rita Ora Dishes On New US Album

Published: Thursday 3rd Jan 2013 by Sam

Having blazed the UK charts last year, 2013 sees Rita Ora make a beeline for the US.

The last twelve months have seen the Londoner’s “brand” established on a global scale, thanks to a slew of promotional appearances, radio runs, and the widespread reach of the “net”.

Now, the Roc Nation priori is looking to use that footing to leap into worldwide success by breaking the notoriously tough American market.

Originally slated to release her ‘ORA’ album with bonus tracks last year, that idea has since been scrapped in favour of an entirely new LP.

Find out what the 22 year old had to say about the project, in a new interview with MTV, after the jump…

Via MTV:

“2013 is really important for me because it’s gonna to be the first time the U.S. hears my official album and I wanted to put a few extra tracks on there and make it really special. So I’m basically giving you guys a whole new album of new material.  So to the world it’ll be like a second album, but to you guys it’ll be like a first album.

(Regarding collaborations) Yes, there is. There’s a few surprises. I don’t want to give them away, but it’s definitely in the Roc family

(Overall) 2013’s got a lot of things I want to achieve. There’s a lot of kind of plans and ideas that are gonna come out in 2013.”

And that, folks, is how a skilled team handles a “positive problem”.

What was the”problem”, though?

Well, it was clear that Rita’s US buzz was beginning to outpace the logistics needed to launch her effectively Stateside while she was blowing up in the UK at the same time. Put simply, it’s hard to “work” two territories when your standing in one is so vastly different to the other (see: major player at home / newbie in America).

At least now a proper plan can be actioned to ensure to smashes in the US, while keeping her UK buzz a’buzzing. All with the same project.

Needless to say, we can’t wait!
