With her stock as an artist burnt by complacency, short lived feuds and undying ‘ghostwriter’ rumours, Lil Kim would seem an unlikely candidate to launch their career of another artist, considering the state of her own.

Hit the 7 minute mark:
We’re sure the feeling is mutual.
While not every Femcee should be expected to be in awe of worship Minaj and her brand, we can’t but chuckle at many a Hip Hop honey’s beef with her.
For, whether they’ll choose to admit it or not, it seems that today’s generation of Female Rappers can only be happy for their contemporaries if they are just as lowly as they are.
Indeed, while the likes of Kim have called on unity within Female Rap, their inability to hide their disdain for Nicki proves that this ‘unity’ can only apply to those whose careers are A. currently in the dumps or B. non existent. The latter, a category Foxx and the short lived ‘Keys’ fall under.
Perhaps, if these ladies spent less time trying to make nice with each other and more time carving out lanes for themselves, they too could enjoy the notoriety and praise afforded to Nicki and wouldn’t spend the best years of their lives gracing hole in the wall clubs and ‘ballin on a budget’ music videos, all in the name of ‘keeping it real’.
Of course, in a culture that bashes anyone brave enough to be a little selfish and put their own causes first, we doubt that will happen anytime soon, but until it does…
