So, despite being long time admirers of the Rapper, we can’t say we were too be pleased with the way in which Nicki Minaj‘s sophomore album, ‘Pink Friday: Reloaded’ was presented to the world last year…on all fronts.
However, in what we’d say proves she stands head and shoulders above the rest even when she isn’t at her best, the last few months have seen both she and the project exceed commercial expectations not even some of her fans could have expected.
This week, as she continues judging duties on ‘American Idol‘, she has gone on to exceed expectations yet again, joining her ‘Try’ sister P!nk in scoring a number of chart wins.
Wanna see what the girls got up to in commercial-ville?
Step inside below…
Helped by sales generated this week, Pink‘s ‘Blow Me (One Last Kiss)’ becomes her fifth single to hit the 2 million US units sold barrier, now boasting sales of 2,005,516.
Meanwhile, her latest album ‘The Truth About Love’ rises back into the US Top Ten with a sales increase of 14o% in the last week, after moving 49,535 copies in the market, where her sophomore album ‘Missundaztood’ enjoys 5x Platinum status with 5,500,000 copies sold to date.
Now to Nicki.
After taking ‘Your Love’ and ‘Moment 4 Life’ to Platinum status with over 1 million units sold for each song, the sassy MC now eyes further glory with her innuendo ridden jam ‘Va Va Voom‘- which now enjoys sales of 900,403 after selling 17,043 in the last week.
As if that wasn’t enough, her Justin Bieber led jam ‘Beauty & A Beat’ soared into the 2 million arena this week when it reached total sales of 2,015,1000. Her chart glory doesn’t end there though.
With over 500,000 units sold since its April 24th 2012, her Hip Hop heavy ‘Beez In The Trap’ has now been certified Gold, extending her lead as the most Certified Female Rapper of all time.
This, helped in part by the fact her single ‘Fly’ has now sold 1 million in the market, while ‘Did It On ‘Em’ sits pretty in the Gold department with over half a million sold.
