Toni Braxton Teases Retirement On ‘Good Morning America’

Published: Thursday 7th Feb 2013 by Sam

From politics to the success of models with mics, many talented acts are struggling with the hardship that is the music industry in 2013.

However for R&B icon Toni Braxton, there’s only so much one can take.

During a press stop for her new Lifetime movie ‘Twist Of Faith’ today on Good Morning America, the 8-time Grammy winner shockingly revealed that she is “falling out of love with music” and is considering bowing out of the limelight (musically) for good.

Check out the interview below…

When one has had a career as seasoned (and, sadly, as poisoned) as Toni’s, it makes sense that she isn’t sugar-coating the BS that is unfair nature of the music business.

For unlike so many of her fellow older divas, the 45 year old still has “it” in abundance. Indeed, on merit of what she’s still able to do today, she should be at the top. However, a toxic mix of bad deals, health problems, and industry ageism, has placed Braxton between a rock and a hard place. A fact which makes her exhausted stance entirely understandable.

On a purely selfish tip, though, we hope Toni rediscovers her “love” for music because we’re still “in love” with what she brings to the table. What’s more, there’s still more mileage in her as a performer – health permitting.
