‘Chime For Change’: Beyonce & Rita Ora To Join Forces For British Stadium Special

Published: Tuesday 26th Mar 2013 by David

One’s a Brit Pop Princess whose sold over 1 million units in the UK since debuting last year. The other, a Pop icon just as renown for her timeless music as she is for her endless stream of charitable ventures.

This summer, in lending a helping hand to Gucci’s ‘Chime For Change‘ initiative, Rita Ora and Beyonce will join forces for a one off concert special, to be held in the city of London.

Details below…

Billed ‘The Sound Of Change Live‘, the event will be held at the Twickenham Stadium and will be overseen by ‘Live Aid‘s Kevin Wall and Aaron Grosky on June 1st 2013.

Set to be joined by Rita’s pal Iggy Azalea, John Legend, Florence & The Machine, Timbaland and Ellie Goulding, tickets for the special go on sale on March 27th, and will see Gucci finance the show as to allow ticket sales to go towards better education, justice and health for women across the world.

On the show, Beyonce explains:

“Our goal is to call for change for girls and women in the loudest voice possible. I am excited for us to come together on June 1 to bring the issues of education, health and justice for girls and women to the world stage.”

To this, the initiative’s founder Frida Gianni added:

“This is the emergency and the opportunity of today. We have reached a significant moment in the history of girls’ and women’s empowerment and now is the time for change. On June 1 at Twickenham Stadium, I hope that The Sound Of Change Live will help the voices calling for change to become so loud that they cannot be ignored.”

Marking the latest philanthropic effort from the ‘End Of Time’ icon, we can’t but respect Beyonce and Rita for lending their voices to such a worthwhile- yet oft overlooked- cause. For, as two women dominating their respective fields, there’s no doubt their stories will serve to influence the very women they seek to help.
