Kelly Rowland Defends Beyonce’s ‘Bow Down’ / Teases New Album

Published: Sunday 31st Mar 2013 by David

With three solo albums under her belt, this year will mark the sweet arrival of Kelly Rowland‘s fourth studio effort ‘Talk A Good Game’.

While a release date for the project is yet to be announced, the last year has seen anticipation for the project intensify with murmurs that she had enlisted a number of the industry’s hardest hitters to aid in its conception…one of these being a certain Pharrell Williams.

Now watch as she shares brand new details on the release with our friends over at ‘The Big Tigger Show’. The spot, which also saw her defend Beyonce’s latest offering, ‘Bow Down’.

On the album:

“I’m actually in the process of wrapping it up this weekend. This is actually the last recording session I’ve got for this album, but I’m so excited. I’ve been in the studio with Dream. I’ve been in the studio with Harmony. I’ve been in the studio with Pharrell. I’ve been in the studio with Kevin Cossom, who is incredible. When I tell you, he is so incredible and I’m so happy I got the opportunity to work with him.”

Then on Bey’s ‘Bow’:

“I’ve heard pieces of what she’s done. She’s heard things that I’ve recorded and I just think it scratches the surface to everything else. I think it’s a great record. It’s her expression. I think, as an artist, you can express yourself however you want to and I just can’t wait for everybody to hear the rest of the record. It is insane.”

With so many qualified hands in the LP’s kitchen, we’re excited to see how the success of ‘Ice‘, ‘Representin’ and ‘Motivation’ have influenced its direction.

Sure, while we’d love to hear Kelly take on cuts she could perform on the ‘Ellen’s and co without offending the innuendo police, her ear for radio ready R&B hits has seen her join Brandy and Keri Hilson in becoming the ‘go-to’ girls for crossover hits.

Our only hope is that there are at least three or four Pop cuts on there to ensure the albums reaches as many potential fans as possible. So, until we find out if it does…
