What rock have you been under? Nelly has been doing this same style since he debuted 13 years ago. In fact he is one of the first to do it this way. Do your research youngin.

    • beyonce bodyguard March 1, 2013

His last album didn’t flop so why would you do this.

  9. Chazavon March 1, 2013

Sounds like hes taking a chapter out of FloRidas book. I guess its hard out there in the music industry, so instead of staying true to his artistry, he compromises the integrity of his skills for the HOT 100 charts. Im not mad at him though, make that money man.

  10. King B>Rihanna March 1, 2013

    NELLY BYE
FLO RIDA ALREADY TOOK YOUR PLACE.

  11. Angel Rose March 1, 2013

STOP the hating b******, I actually like this song. Its a new era b****** what do you guys expect? Him to flop like the rest of the artist from years ago that are coming back making music? He’s just being smart

  12. The Truth March 1, 2013

Nelly you better snatch your crown back from that style jocker Flo Rida. I hope this works for you.

Y’all b****** need to take a f****** seat. Nelly is true to his music this is the only song like this. And assholes only thing he change was the beat and sound his other s*** is still there like rapping and singing…

  19. LA LA March 1, 2013

This sounds like a One Direction, Big Time Rush kinda song.
    IDK how to feel

  20. Emptytvr March 1, 2013

Usher goes pop, Justin Timberlake stays R&B.
Nelly goes pop, I bet Eminem comes back real Hip hop.

Why is it that white people are staying truer to black music than black people are?

    • Beyonce BodyGuard March 1, 2013

Haha lol. Eminem really???????????? White people ain’t doing s***. And JT was always R&B so have a seat.

    • Beck March 2, 2013

Because white artists can get away with contradicting trends more than black artists can. Usher had his own “Suit and Tie” called “Let Me See” and it didn’t even crack the top 40. If Eminem were to come back with some 90’s style gangsta hip hop, it would probably race up the charts on the strength of his name. If Nelly tried that, he would flop hard. White artists have much more wiggle room to be defiant, while black artists are now having to be compliant.

The music and entertainment industry has always been bias, bigoted and racist, but it’s reached a shocking level of obviousness since the dawn of the 2010’s. This is like a return to the segregated 1950s.

Not feeling the song or video.

  22. mob March 1, 2013

    Damn……Nelly babe…”how you doin?”….lol 🙂

I see he is doing his pop music ISH again. Before there was a Flo Rida, there was Nelly doing his Rap-Pop crossover stuff.

  23. butterfly March 1, 2013

Usher didn’t go pop. Looking 4 Myself is a R&B album and believe it or not, it’s his most critically acclaimed album. JT was never R&B he is a pop artist. Oh and if you all want Nelly to do Hip Hop and Usher to do R&B, will ya’ll buy it or let it flop? First you guys complain that they won’t change it up, and when they finally do, you won’t buy it because they “sold out”. Quit living in the past. If this is what Nelly has to do to sell, then so be it.

    • CzarM March 1, 2013

Have a seat with that grandstanding BS.

I’m tired of the bigoted and cavalier comments that black folks (R&B and Hip Hop fans) don’t buy albums. Who do you think made Usher and Nelly stars in the first place? Who do you think were their original fans? Who do you think bought their first million sold? White/pop fans? No. They came later.

If Usher put out an R&B album and Nelly put out a Hip Hop album that flop, then maybe — just maybe — it would be largely in part because they weren’t promoted with enough fervor to make them successful *or* because they were lackluster in their own rite, and deserved to underperform because of it. In the meantime, the poppier Looking 4 Myself is Usher’s poorest selling album to date and I’ll bet that Nelly’s next album which will probably be pop too (if this first single is any indication) will also be his poorest seller too.

All these pretentious “they do what they gotta do to sell” excuses that people spout to defend urban acts selling out to pop becomes futile, because guess what? Their pop albums end up becoming their BIGGEST flops and basically the most stigmatized of their discographies. They throw their core fans under the bus to chase after a One DIrection/Bieber/Katy/Flo Rida following that they largely don’t catch. So what did they get out of selling out?

“Hey Porche” is not going to become a “Country Grammar,” “Grillz” or “Dilemma,” just like “Scream” didn’t match the success of “U Got It Bad,” “You Make Me Wanna” or “Yeah.”

If chances are you’re going to flop anyway, then have enough dignity to flop with some style. I can’t think of anything more laughable than a trend-jumping/sellout album becoming that artists biggest commercial disappointment.

  24. NickiFan March 1, 2013

    Givin me Flo Rida teas

    • JER March 2, 2013

First of all it’s “T’s” not teas. This aint no cup of chamomile b****. I swear.

Anyway. Everything about this is what Nelly is known for except the excess autotune and the too-pop beat. OTherwise this is a classic Nelly summerjam

  25. JER March 2, 2013

It’s not BAD… but it’s not cute either. Where’s the grittiness? This is def summer pop tho. I just wish there was a harder beat? Maybe a remix will give it that edge

  26. Lemon March 2, 2013

    Nice song for Summer.

  27. justinf March 2, 2013

it’s not that bad, it’s HAPPY. I think we need more music like this, rather than that twerk/molly/ratchet s***. At least he’s going after a woman with CLASS.

you b****** dont know how to react when artists GROW or CHANGE or ADAPT (like us fans are allowed to do). this song is feel good and perfect for summer. it almost has a pop/country feel, that he’s experimented many times with on past albums… collabs with tim mcgraw, and just a dream. just because he was more gangster in the beginning, he was either like that at the time or went with the stereotype, but he is free to try new things, and does not need to be held in that box.

and you BASIC B****** so concerned with who went what. these people are MUSICAL ARTISTS, and 12 times out of 10 like more than one genre, like you do or should.

  28. tera March 2, 2013

    i luv nelly
