This season of American Idol may be drawing to a close, but Mariah Carey seems keen to launch new material before the curtain calls.

Looking pretty in pink, the diva and judge on te Fox show posted the snap above with the following message…

‘Triumphant’ aside, the prospect of new Mimi excites us in earnest. For, given the list of folk she’s working with on this album (see: Jermaine Dupri, Bryan Michael Cox, Darkchild), all signs point to the project being a winner…on paper.

There’s, of course, the sound she chooses to channel sonically — which we hope is more ‘Emancipation’ than ‘Touch My Body’. Then there’s the issue of live performances, which have been touch-and-go — at best.

Still, bring on new Mimi!
