Rihanna is not a true vocalist but she is a good enough singer. To me a vocalist uses their voice as an instrument and doing acrobatics and what not. I do believe Rihanna can sing but she needs to practice more and layer her vocals and do more complex things. Oh, am I the only one who thinks Rihanna did a good job on hero? She messed up towards the end but prior to hearing this I believed Rihanna was in a Ciara, Cassie, Britney, Janet type of lane. I guess I’m the only one who rhinks that she did show talent and a much bigger range then I thought she had. She has talent obviously. She just needs control her voice better but she has range.

I mean “Standing on the sun” is pretty much verbatim of what Rihanna started out doing. The island beat, the lyrics, the melody, the scenery, the outfits, the song and basically the whole video is verbatim of what Rihanna did when she started.
It’s sad and pathetic to see Beyonce’s self esteem oozing out like this. I mean she’s a mother and should not be having self esteem issues but she clearly has them. All of the sudden she (Beyonce) wants to be an island girl when she’s a ghetto Texas b****.
We’ve seen this from Beyonce before, when the Latina girls (Shakira, J-Lo) were doing it big, she wanted to be Latina so bad and now that the island girls (Rihanna, Nicki) are doing it big, she all of the sudden wants to be an Island girl. She’s taking vacations in the Islands, shooting Rihannaisque videos and all of the sudden releasing Island style music (grown woman, standing in the sun), like really b****, you need to have your self esteem issues checked out.

But it’s struggling to win back market share from Coca-Cola Co. at a time when Americans are continuing to cut back on soda in favor of water, sports drinks and bottled teas.
PepsiCo, based in Purchase, N.Y., offers a variety of drinks in all those categories, including Aquafina, Gatorade and Lipton. But Nooyi noted that the company has to be careful about investing more heavily in one brand at the expense of another. Soda, for example, is generally more profitable than bottled water and still makes up the bulk of its beverage sales.

I’m a huge fan and Rihanna is no vocalist. She’s a pop star with a unique voice that matches every genre. Bey, Whitney, MC and Christina (ok, maybe Chris can) can nor had ever cross to rock, dance hall, country and dubstep sound. Their voices isn’t fit for it, they can never have that many sounds on one album. But I do think Rih needs to work on her breathing tech, cause she can hit notes and she has a voice, just needs some lessons on how to control it. Do I want Rih to sound like the others I just named? No, I like Rih cause of HER voice, she sounds like no one and THAT’S why she’s winning. (but still do need lessons tho, on the real.)
