After shifting 55,135 units this week, Jason Derulo‘s ‘The Other Side’ forces itself to chart glory when it hit sales of 220,185 units. Released on April 16th, the song is now on its way to becoming one the singer/songwriter’s fastest selling singles- after peaking at #16 on Billboard’s Pop Songs tally.
Derulo’s rise to the top comes after his debut single ‘Whatcha Say‘ was certified 4x Platinum in the US fir sales of 4 million units and as Drake’s ‘Started From The Bottom’ moved a cool 51, 772 copies in the same market- bringing its sales to 1,475,871, after his DJ Khaled led ‘No New Friends’ was sent to Rhythmic Contemporary Radio on May 21st.
Emeli Sande joins the party with ‘Next To Me‘ which has now sold a sweet 775,030 in the US, extending her reign as the market’s most successful ‘sleeper star’ today- well on her way to shifting Adele esque numbers without the ’21’s singer international notoriety.
Meanwhile, Ariana Grande eyes Platinum glory with ‘The Way‘- which won over the wallets of 86,133 music lovers in the last week, pushing its sales to 740,695 as Mariah Carey‘s ‘Beautiful’ sits pretty at 211,087 copies sold.
On higher ground, Bruno Mars’ ‘Locked Out Of Heaven’ extends its 4x Platinum lead with 4,009,944 copies moved since October 1st 2012, as Ciara‘s ‘Body Party’ reaches the 142,422 mark, standing one of the highest selling Urban releases this week.
A genre, which saw Def Jam’s Elijah Blake‘s ‘XOX‘ score a peak position of #12 on iTunes USA and Rihanna‘s ‘Pour It Up‘ secure new sales of 23,534 units pushing it to the 1,083,163 sold!
