Ciara is making quite the statement with new single ‘Body Party’.
The sizzling Mike Will production has been burning up the net and airwaves, and more rapidly so since its accompanying video was unwrapped two weeks ago.
And with streaming now a more prominent component of chart positions (as well as the song holding its own on iTunes), it appears this is benefitting the 27-year-old in earnest. For, ‘Party’ has made quite the splash on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 tally.
Details below…
Set to be published later today, this week’s tally positions ‘Body Party’ at #35.
Not only does the figure represent the highest new entry this week, it becomes the Atlanta-bred beauty’s biggest hit since 2010’s ‘Ride’ (which, for all its Urban success, peaked at #42 on the mainstream chart).
Commercially speaking, ‘Party’ -to a degree – also becomes Ciara’s biggest hit since 2009’s ‘Love, Sex, Magic’, which peaked at #10 on the Hot 100.
Can it achieve the same success as the Justin Timberlake assisted cut and climb into the top 10? Time will tell. What does feel certain, though, is that Ciara’s stock is re-rocketing and we couldn’t be happier for her. Especially given the boost the song now gives its parent album ‘Ciara’ ahead of its July 9th release. {Source}
