Lil Mama has shared fresh thoughts on Rap purveyor Nicki Minaj this month, during an interview with the folks over at Hampton Blu Radio.
Hitting the outlet to dish on her role as Lisa ‘Left-Eye’ Lopes in the forthcoming TLC biopic, Minaj soon dominated the conversation with the ‘Lip Gloss’ Rapper weighed in on her ‘rivals’ supposed embracing of fellow Female Rappers.
Her words below…
On the Grammy nominated chart topper, she shared:
While the joke that is Mama’s comment literally mocks itself, allow us to explain why we’re billing her our ‘Donkey of the Day‘.
They may not realize it, but every time a Female MC calls on another to ‘put her on’, she finds herself exposing her own shortcomings as an artist…and as a brand.
For, it wasn’t Lil Kim who worked the late shift at Red Lobster to pay for Nicki Minaj’s studio time – that was Nicki Minaj.
Nor was it Eve who spent many a dark hour crafting the lyrics and brand that ultimately scored Nicki Minaj her deal- that was Nicki Minaj too.
Perhaps, if Lil Mama spent more time pushing her own brand and not waiting for another Femcee to do it for her, her career wouldn’t be drowning in a sea of unsold CDs and VMA induced shame.
What happened to the idea of one making their own moves to make their own dreams come true?
Better yet, the idea that actions speak louder than words. For, from we’re standing, Minaj has done a lot more to ‘put women on’ filling arenas across the globe, than Lil Mama has whining from the pigsty of Pop irrelevancy.
