In an age where popularity and ‘hits’ trumps popularity and talent, the last seven years have seen Rihanna become a serious threat to performers far more gifted than she could ever be.
Kept afloat by her aesthetic, personality and the genius that is Jay Brown, Brand Rihanna‘s heart lies not in the skill that sees the likes of Beyonce and Justin Timberlake reign almost twenty years after their debuts, but the songwriters and producers that keep audiences across the globe enthused…when that voice fails to do the trick.
Now, after becoming the youngest artist to play France’s ‘Stade De France’, the Pop puppet has thanked her fans for making it possible while taking aim at her competition.
Fighting words below…
Via her ‘badgalriri’ Instagram page she shared:
“I couldn’t do this alone, I needed 80’000 people to join me!!! And you did, so thank you for being the fans of a lifetime, we’re the ones they’re gonna talk about decades from now!
You are the phanz that other faves could only dream to have!!
I am blessed and honored and proud and humbled to be represented by you and to represent for you!!!! It’s a Navi thing!! #*****yophanz #*****yofav #thisiswhatrealstadiumstatusbelookinglikebitch #nobasiczone #THANKYOU #NavyRDie”
While we’re not sure what she meant by ‘this is what real stadium status be looking like‘, one thing is for certain….
The likes of GaGa, Justin and Beyonce aren’t celebrated because of how many units or shows they sell out, but what they do once they turn up to those shows.
For, it isn’t is the multi-Platinum status of ‘Born This Way‘ that saw GaGa sell out stadiums across the globe two years ago, but the trust the public had in her to deliver a show where her talent would take centre stage.
It’s for this reason, that we hope the ‘Battleship’ star enjoys her new found #stadiumstatus while it lasts and has serious plans in place to hold onto her fans once her faucet of tricks runs dry.
