New Song: Miley Cyrus – ‘We Can’t Stop’ {Produced By Mike Will}

Published: Monday 3rd Jun 2013 by Sam

Miley Cyrus launches her official foray into Pop-Urban today with the premiere of new single ‘We Can’t Stop’.

Produced by hard-hitting heavyweight Mike Will (Rihanna’s ‘Pour It Up’), the cut is a marked departure from the former Hannah Montana star’s squeaky-clean Pop past. And while it’s yet to be seen how the masses react to the 20-year-old’s reincarnation, a  who’s who of Urban music have lined up to work on ‘Stop’s parent album – including Pharrell Williams and Hit-Boy.

Unwraped moments ago on Ryan Seacrest‘s radio show, you too can get familiar with “new Miley” after the jump…

Indeed, the mere mention of “Miley Cyrus” in an Urban context (understandably) saw some anticipate the track to be a contrived train-wreck. And while jury’s out on whether this re-branding is more organised than organic, one thing is certain — the song isn’t bad. At all.

Generic? Perhaps. Yet, this is a carefully crafted multi-format smash waiting to happen. For, the cut does a solid job of courting an edgier audience, without elbowing out Cyrus’ Pop core. Needless to say, it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out…
