Samsung may have purchased 1 million copies of his new LP for their mobile phone users, but it seems Jay Z won’t be needing these sales to top the Billboard 200 next week.
Indeed, thanks to a short but potent digital campaign launched for the ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’, pre-orders for the release have sky rocketed in the last week, giving it no choice but to soar to the top of the charts next week!
Good news below…
So strong are the album’s pre-order sales tonight, Billboard have predicted it will shift between 350,000 to 400,000 units by the end of next week, set to mark his 13th time atop the chart.
All too telling of his the support afforded to him by the casual listener, ‘Holy Grail’ now faces little to no competition on a chart front- guaranteed the #1 spot despite the momentum surrounding Ciara‘s self titled new album ‘Ciara’, and J.Cole‘s brand new ‘Born Sinner‘- which is on course to top the chart this week.
Sure to silence any who questioned how well the LP would fare when forced to sell ‘traditionally’, one wonders how many more units ‘Grail’ would have sold if given a longer roll out and a definitive lead single.
Thing is though- as these digits prove- Jay has reached a level where he’s guaranteed to soar higher than the rest without these bells and whistles, and will continue to do so in the years that follow this one.
