Looks like ‘Fire We Make’ duo Alicia Keys and Maxwell are looking to make more hot music if his recent announcement is anything to go by.
Indeed, while the ‘This Woman’s Work’ wailer is hard at work on ‘blackSUMMERSnight’ – the second of his critically acclaimed trilogy, recent interviews with Essence and Billboard have lent clues about what else the crooner is hard at work on.

“The album’s pretty much about the last day of summer, so I felt like it was a good idea to release it at the end of the summer,” says Maxwell.

We’re definitely working on an EP that’s sort of Marvin Gaye/Tammi Terrrell. We got a thing musically….She’s someone that I trust. I’m like that, by the way. Most of the people you see me working for me are actually with me. And I’m proud to say that I’ve known them for 20 years almost. I’ve written songs with, produced songs with them a lot of times. I don’t deviate form my comfort zone. I feel like when God brings people to you it’s good to keep ‘em around. Not to say I haven’t cut a few fools off [laughs], but for the essential I keep it close.

I´ve been into Alicia´s music a lot these last few weeks. Call me whatever but it´s like I discovered her first two albums “songs in a minor” and “The Diary” just now in 2013. I´ve always recognized her talent and her singles were always great but I didn´t start to check her albums till “The element of freedom”.
One of the best artists of the 00´s decade without a doubt.
About this album: sounds great. But if Maxwell has been delaying his new album for so long, I don´t see how they are going to do this in the near future.
