Miley Cyrus has ample cause to celebrate today; for, her first single as a re-branded artist, ‘We Can’t Stop’, has become her first chart-topper on the Official UK Singles Chart.
Flip the hood for more on the twerk-friendly star’s latest feat…
The Mike Will produced cut rocketed straight to the top of the British tally, after selling a whopping 128,000 copies in its opening week at retail.
Contrived some may call her, but the numbers don’t lie, do they?
‘We Can’t’, which serves as the lead single from Cyrus’ new album ‘Bangerz’, also becomes the 20-year-old’s first UK top ten. Prior to now, the former Disney star’s highest placing was #11 – the figure achieved by 2008’s ‘See You Again’ and 2009 duo ‘The Climb’ and ‘Party In The USA.
Home in the US, the track peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

A commendable achievement, no doubt, however it’ll be über interesting to see what effect (if any) the success of ‘We Can’t Stop’ has on its parent album.
