Chris Brown hit headlines this week after news of his dramatic seizure spread like wildfire.
The ‘Fine China’ singer reportedly suffered the fit in a Los Angeles recording studio on Friday, yet refused medical treatment — naturally sparking intense discussion about what caused the frightening episode.
Ploughing through the speculation, the 24-year old’s publicist issued a statement over the weekend. Find out what it read after the jump…
Issued exclusively to USA Today, the release confirmed that the star did indeed suffer a “non-epileptic seizure (NES)”. Issued by Brown’s PR Nicole Perna, the press call added “his doctor tended to him this afternoon and attributes the NES to intense fatigue and extreme emotional stress, both due to the continued onslaught of unfounded legal matters and the non-stop negativity.”
Almost simultaneously, the performer’s girlfriend Karrueche Tran wrote on Twitter:
Prayers all day
— Karrueche Tran (@karrueche) August 9, 2013
…while Brown himself added…
“They won’t love u until u r a memory…”
The post was subsequently deleted.

Spin, much?
Granted the whole episode is utterly unfortunate (and woefully worrying), we have to give kudos to Team Breezy for attempting to flip it in his favour. What we’d appreciate more, though, is a time when Brown himself stops handing the media the very tools to knock him down (see: fights, Twitter rants, court room visits and the like). He’s entirely too talented to have his career stagnated by drama.
Brown’s new album ‘X’ hits stores later this year.
