R&B doesn’t sell.
Thanks to the likes of Tamar Braxton and Robin Thicke, the above has recently been proved to be nothing short of a lie. For, when armed with enough financial and creative backing, R&B albums have no reason not to fare just as well as their Pop counterparts.
Now, in what will hopefully encourage more Urban acts to push for more when releasing LPs, Tamar‘s ‘Love & War’ is on course to bring in sales that will see her elevated to the higher ranks of her genre.

Her numbers below…
Predicted chart position: #2
Predicted first week figure: 105-110k
Winning much?
Benefitting from the audience she continues to reach with all of her television ventures, Tamar’s sales will see her lose out on the #1 spot to Ariana Grande‘s ‘Yours Truly’ which will sell anywhere between 110,000 to 115,000 units- earning it the #1 spot!
With these figures, Tamar can now boast of being the only R&B diva to debut with sales of over 100,000 units in the last year, outperforming critically acclaimed releases by Ciara, Kelly Rowland, Keyshia Cole, Fantasia and Brandy, whose sales now surpass 30 million units worldwide and 8.62 million in her domestic market, helped in part by her Quadruple Platinum self-titled debut.
Well done Tamar!
