Despite successful crossover efforts from the likes of Mary Mary and Kirk Franklin, the “inspirational” arena remains quite narrow and traditional. Hence, Ms Williams’ attempt to redefine what contemporary Gospel can be is both brave and commendable. Needless to say, we can see this burning up Urban AC and Gospel radio.
