It’ll be YouTube as you’ve never seen it before.
Indeed, in expanding their reach to creative pastures new, Google’s YouTube have announced the launch of the YouTube Music Awards, and have enlisted Lady GaGa and Eminem to join them in its unveiling!
Good news below!
Kicking off on November 3rd, the inaugural show will see the entertainers perform under the direction of Spike Jonze, the creative enlisted to creative direct the outing- which will boast six award categories set to be announced this month.
On the venture, YouTube’s vice president of marketing, Danielle Tiedt explained:
“We’re trying to create live videos during the award shows so that the experience becomes more about creating than presenting. Music is our bread and butter and our heart and soul here at YouTube. Our main goal is to not just do another award show. We wanted to do something special.”
Quite interestingly, the 90 minute long award show will not measure its success using the ratings it scores as it airs, but rather how many times it is shared and played after its arrival, with Tiedt going on to share:
“In general, 90% of all views for live events happen after the event itself. The live event is a way to get people talking. Afterwards, it gets shared and shared.”
