Much to their surprise, concert organisers Livescape revealed that it received a letter from Malaysia‘s Ministry of Communications and Multimedia, explaining that it had rejected Ke$ha’s application to perform in the country due to the unrest they believe she would cause to their religion and culture.
This, coming after the hit maker agreed to alter her show to suit Malaysian audiences and comply the government’s guidelines for performers hoping to deliver stage shows in the market. Alas, her efforts to appease them came to no avail and now joins Livescape in suffering a $350,000 loss because of the concert’s ban.
In response to the nation’s actions, Livescape have reportedly urged them to “engage in a productive dialogue” with all concert organisers as to avoid similar trouble in the future.
