Mariah Carey Announces New Single ‘The Art Of Letting Go’

Published: Monday 14th Oct 2013 by Sam

It didn’t come when you wanted it, but oh is it right on time.

Mariah Carey‘s long-awaited follow-up to Spring hit ‘#Beautiful’ has been long-overdue. So much so, that we wondered whether the track or its parent album ‘The Art Of Letting Go’ would ever see the light of day.

Fret not, Lambs. For, the diva extreme has revealed the LP’s title track is the latest single to be lifted from the serially delayed set; with its release coming sooner than one might think.

Details after the jump…

Writing on Facebook, Carey announced:

As much of a mess as the campaign has been since ‘Beautiful’ peaked, we’d be lying if we said we weren’t amped for this.

For all her misgivings these days (see: live performances, so-so material, and the like), Mimi remains a legend; one we feel has at least one big record left in her. Here’s hoping it’s ‘The Art Of Letting Go’.

Randomness: Given that November 11th also brings with it the release of Lady GaGa’s ‘ARTPOP’ album, it’ll be interesting to see which way media attention sways.

It’ll also be interesting to see if Team Mimi are gearing up to release her LP this year too – to cash in on those Holiday sales? If so, it’d be a super smart move as she has not got the corporate scaffolding ‘American Idol’ gave ‘Beautiful’, nor will another Clear Channel deal sell an entire album. Needless to say, it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.
