Fact not fiction, Katy Perry will sit atop of the Billboard 200 next week with her third studio album ‘Prism’.
Indeed, with initial sales projections of 275,000, the ‘Roar’ led set is on-course to not only deliver the singer’s best opening numbers yet, but also become the strongest female first week numbers of the year.
And, as if that wasn’t good enough news for the star (who is celebrating her 29th birthday today), it is now being reported that the LP is poised to exceed expected sales estimates.
Find out by how much after the jump…
According to Billboard, latest purchase patterns suggest ‘Prism’ is slated end up with first week sales in the region of 290,000 – a near 20k increase on the original figure touted.
There is even potential for the project to cross the 300,000 mark, although insiders acknowledge the slim chance of such an occurrence.
In any case, it’s clear the songbird has hatched a winner with this one.
