Up until today, the above figure had been tied to the forecasted opening first week sales figure for Lady GaGa‘s latest sonic offering, ‘ARTPOP.’

Alas, in what we’re hoping sees tickets for the album’s supporting tour made available for purchase earlier than scheduled, Hits Daily Double have revealed just how many units the album is on course to sell this week- using its first day sales to do so.

Helped in part by its lead single ‘Applause’ and its follow up ‘Do What U Want‘, the album can now expect to shift anywhere between 250,000 to 275,000 units in its opening week, 100,000 units less than initially predicted.
