As a few hours separate the world from her new single ‘The Art of Letting Go‘, Mariah Carey is given fresh reassurance that her relevancy in today’s market is far more potent than her detractors would have many believe.
Why her new album has little reason to tank, if handled correctly?
Good news below…
On Halloween, Mariah shared a snap of her twins dressed in Superman costumes on her personal Instagram page. Then, in what saw the star score an unexpected boost in her social media stock, the image garnered 112,000 likes on the outlet, 350,000 likes on Facebook and earned her 189,000 new Twitter followers.
Why these figures are so important? Well, by way of these figures, the icon has seen her audience literally grow in a matter of days, and secure a renewed interest in both she and her work. Important, as its this interest she’ll no doubt need to ensure ‘Letting Go’ garners a similar response…even if it’s only a digital top.
For, as Miley Cyrus’ ‘Wrecking Ball’ attests to, one’s ability to generate ‘views’ can take one’s material to chart heights that not only tick many a PR box, but encourage one’s audience to pay careful attention to the material’s supporting album- and if given enough reason to- purchase it!
It’s for this reason that we can’t wait to see Carey’s new manager Jermaine Dupri handles the aforementioned LP, and how much of Mariah’s industry muscle is used to win over the general public, birthing an album that stands as her one of her strongest to date on all fronts.
In more social media news, Mariah’s current spot at #24 on Billboard’s Social 50 comes as Nicki Minaj’s digital content sees her rise on spot up from #8, bidding adieu to #9 thanks to the snap she shared on Halloween, here.
As if that controversial pic wasn’t enough to force her higher up the tally, her latest interview with Power 105.1’s ‘The Breakfast Club’ has also gone a long way to support her cause, as its official views now surpass the 35,000 mark in less than a week.
Still haven’t seen that conversation?
