One month after announcing the line-up for his ‘Welcome to Jamrock’ cruise venture, ‘There For You‘ performer Damian Marley has seen each and every cabin aboard the cruise liner sold out- one year before it sets sail from Miami, Florida.
Details below…
Named after the entertainer’s Grammy winning third studio album, the cruise will see fans board the ‘Norwegian Peal’ in Miami on October 20th and arrive in Jamaica five days later.
During this time, the boat will make stops at the island’s resort towns Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, where its attendees will enjoy daytime excursions and beach parties, as well as enjoy performances from ‘It Wasn’t Me‘ Rapper Shaggy, Sean Paul, and ‘Zion Await‘ lyricist Jah Cure.
On its success, Marley told Billboard Biz:
“Reggae’s root is Jamaica, and it seems that the world is losing a bit of that history so we were very strict in having most of the lineup for the first cruise be of Jamaican heritage.”
Adding to this, the vocalist’s manager- Dan Dalton– shared:
“There has never been a fully chartered cruise ship devoted to reggae so this will be like a festival with sound systems playing, a rock steady lounge or dub lounge, an 80s dancehall club, a multifaceted Jamaican musical experience.”
Boasting 2,300 cabins, the ‘Pearl’ can accommodate up to to 2,394 passengers, and is now available to preview via the YouTube clip below…
