First Rihanna & Shakira, now this?
The night was set alight with word that Grammy winning pop superstar Lady Gaga was on board to duet with ‘Womanizer’ wailer Britney Spears – a concept first brought forth by Spears in a recent chat interview with her devoted fans.
With Spears already listing Madonna, Christina Aguilera, P!nk, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, and Rihanna to her lengthy list of female collaborators, the self-proclaimed Femme Fatale’s inclusion of Gaga would certainly seem fitting.
Elsewhere in the blog-o-sphere, news surfaced that ‘Body Party’ beauty Ciara has been eyeing a collabo with long-time idol Janet Jackson. As both singers have albums reportedly due in the next year, this is certainly a combo we could see happening. But, can you?

Janet Jackson ft. Ciara – ‘Feedback’ remix
2008 brought with it Janet’s last top 20 single in the form of ‘Feedback’. The ‘Discipline’-designated tune kicked off the diva’s last album and, much to fan delight, saw a return to form in Jackson’s high octane dance moves and glossy accompanying videos.
The song received a bit of a boost when Ciara added her vocals to the set.
Lady Gaga & Beyonce – ‘Telephone’ (mashup ft. Britney Spears)
Originally written by Gaga for Spears, the tune ‘Telephone’ saw itself hung up on the shelf after Britney recorded a demo…then passed on the EDM-number. Once revived in 2010 by Gaga and Beyonce, the song swiftly became a hit and peaked in Billboard Hot 100’s top 5.
A fan-made mashup of all three vocalists surfaced online during the song’s prime.
Now, after listening to what a duet could sound like between the ladies, who would you rather hear?

Honestly, all shade aside, Janet Jackson and Ciara duet would be hot. The video and live performance(s) (regardless of the obvious lip synching) would slay. Ima just need it NOT to be no EDM crap! As for Britney and GayGay, absolutely NOT! Both are passed their prime and neither can dance anymore due to hip, knee, psychological whatever issues they both have and I’m just not here for the vocal sloppiness that would surround that track..

Is it me or is TGJ making a big deal out of nothing? Anyway, if all these possible duets from these “divas” end being like that autotuned disaster that was that Britney and Rihanna “duet” (nobody was singing there but anyway) then I´ll pass. Gone are the days when sporadic duets between real divas were truly exciting and new.
Gaga is far from being at her best moment commercially, but I was bored a few minutes ago and wasted my time checking a few itunes singles charts from different countries. How is it that Do what You Want was higher in almost every chart I checked than any Katy Perry or Milye Cyrus single out right now? (Australia and New Zealand were the exception). I fail to realize how Gaga is doing especially worse than those two. On itunes USA Artpop is above Prism and the other one (I don´t remember the name) right now too. I suppose at least Katy and Milye have sold more copies from their albums to date right? Cos if they hadn´t then please explain to me how those two are slaying but Gaga is flopping. How many copies has Milye sold in the USA to date? I know Katy has sold a little bit more (she also had two or 3 more weeks and a big hit single) but Milye? Does anybody know? And no, I´m not refering to that previous album of hers that struggled to reach 300,000 copies sold in the USA at the end of its run on the charts. I´m talking about the current one, you know with all the publicity and attention she got this year.

Last real diva duets I remember are “Tell Him” by legendary Barbra Streisand and a young Celine Dion conquering the world (that was epic both before and after listening to the song) and Whitney and Mariah duet (the impossible happened, and it went right).
Beautiful liar: well, that was wack, both have better songs, and their diva status was not comparable to the other ones I mentioned.
Telephone: well, yes for the big moment Gaga was living and yes for the video excitement Gaga had brought back to music. But the song is wack too, Gaga has grown so much since then. That was one of her worst songs.
Rihanna+Britney: Talentless disaster. That´s what it was.

The Janet ft. Ciara remix gave me such life back in 2008. I still listen to it. Too bad that didn’t do “THE LAST” dual, dance-off music video for that cut. Anyway, I’m hopeful and super excited for a new duet!!!
Lip Syncing is the thing to do nowadays. Not trying to be funny, but who wants to be all out of breath for such long periods of time. Give a real performance for some of the ballads, but everything else should be pre-recorded. Work smart not hard!
