By way of their lucrative discographies and ever rising commercial pull in the market, Adult Contemporary belle Emeli Sande and ‘Disco Heaven‘ performer Lady GaGa have contributed to the £3.5 billion the UK music industry is currently worth!
Good news below…
Reported by “The Economic Contribution of the Core UK Music Industry”, the figure above would have been $1.6 billion shorter without contributions made my songwriters, composers and musicians.
Musicians, that include Sande and GaGa whose recorded music sales helped to generate £634 million in the market, helping to employ over 100,000 people and see export sales aid the economy with £509 million!
Billboard adds:
“Live music revenues totalled £662 million ($1.07 billion) with music publishing generating £402 million ($655 million). Collecting societies, music managers and music trade bodies accounted for a further £151 million ($246 million), while revenues generated from U.K. music producers and recording studios totalled £80 million ($130 million) in 2012.”
