Chris Brown‘s ‘X’ campaign continues – despite a number of public and pronounced bumps along the way.
Originally earmarked for a December 2013 release (after several delays), the LP’s arrival date remains unknown. What is certain, though, is that the singer is still pushing on with the project – as evidenced by the debut of new song ‘Wildcat’.
The hard-hitting mid-tempo was posted to the singer’s VEVO page without much ceremony or warning, leaving many wondering whether it’s an official or yet another taster.
Take a listen to ‘Wildcat’ below and let us know whether you still have an appetite for what ‘X’ is serving up or are you full-up.
Hmm.
Production-wise the track is our favourite flavour of mid-tempo (see: hard-hitting, with a knock). Yet, lyrically, the cut feels lackluster. Entirely ‘been, there, done that” terrain. What’s more, not to suggest Gospel should be his go-to route, but surely playing up the bad-boy image…at this time…is…ill-conceived? Just thinking out aloud.
