In yet another chapter of the never-ending story, Ashanti has announced a new release date for her serially delayed ‘Braveheart’ album.
With previous dates – quite literally – spanning two years, it’s anyone’s guess if the latest will be honored. Nonetheless find out when the LP is “scheduled” to hit stores after the jump…
Speaking during a recent interview with WPGC DC backstage on site of the Grammys, the singer confirmed March 18th as the current birth-date for the project – which until now was set to arrive a month earlier on February 18th:
Sigh.
There’s little more to say that hasn’t been said already. The whole project is a mucky mess. As supporters of her talent, we just hope she’s able to mop it up is a way that minimises the muddiness of it all. For us, the answer would be a free mixtape, which she could and should follow with a properly handled album – preferably released (or at least distributed) by a major label.
In the here and now, though, Ms. Douglas should look into a radio plugger, as this practice of flinging singles on iTunes and hoping for the best has proven a fruitless exercise. How will folk invest time or funds in an album that they’ve not even heard singles from? #BeyonceAside.
Still, we wish her the best.
