By way of numerous delays and R&B’s current standing in the Pop arena, it’s safe to say Ashanti’s ‘Braveheart’ has a long way to go before securing the support it needs to soar upon release.

However, that hasn’t stopped the native New Yorker from trying, doing so by releasing fresh artwork pulled from the LP’s campaign, perhaps hoping to generate fresh interest in the independent release.

Set to go head to head with new releases from Mary J.Blige, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, the album will mark her first since 2008’s ‘The Declaration‘, which has sold 295,000 units since its kick-off.

  3. Bey Fan January 6, 2014

She’s still trying to make Brave Heart happen? Why?

  4. Molly January 6, 2014

@BeyFan right! like no one cares no more.

  5. nah January 6, 2014

she needs to get over herself and sign to a label… otherwise braveheart will continue to be a myth. good luck though.

I’m so happy and proud of Ashanti!!!! People have to realize that she is no longer a Record Label Artist, but an Independent Artist!!!! Ashanti is trying perfect “Braveheart” so that she won’t flop and become like everyone else that’s just releasing all kinds of music that isn’t worth buying let alone a penny worth…LOL… People should give her a chance, because we all know that even in today’s industry that Ashanti can come back and slay… Maybe not like she use to, but better because she is Independent… I’m here for her and I LOVE the promo pic.

Smh wasn’t this albums original release date in 2010? Girl…..

  8. IkeM January 6, 2014

*DEAD* This artwork is a million times worse than the original. She needs to let Braveheart die already. It just won’t happen, like EVER *plays BEYONCÉ*

  9. BEYHIVE_MINAJ January 6, 2014

Why is she still pushing this?

  10. Antonio January 6, 2014

    Who? What? When? Where? Why?
Ashanti still does a huge fanbase, but it’s just the music. The songs she’s been releasing have been really lackluster except for Never Too Away which she should’ve pushed this album with due to high critical and public acclaim it received. Hopefully, Ashanti, Ciara, Brandy, Kelly Rowland and Keri Hilson and even Amerie get it together with their next projects because we need more talented Black R&B females at the forefront alongside Beyoncé, Rihanna and Alicia Keys.

I love you Ashanti and release that album. I am going to buy the album

  12. The Boy Toy January 6, 2014

Ashanti needs to get back to the basics. Catchy hooks over hip hop beats. That’s the only way she’ll regain some type of relevance….

  13. B’ROCKA SLAY’S January 6, 2014

I think she needs to rebrand…new cover, new logo…time for a new name
Braveheart is dead…But im still rooting for her

  14. DIGGER BEY January 6, 2014

Aww Poor Girl still trying. Wishing her the best though.

  15. Bey Fan January 6, 2014

Im not saying she should give up on her dream… but let this Brave Heart…I mean at least give us a new title.

  16. ABC(the ORIGINAL) January 6, 2014

She looks nothing short of amazing, but no ones checking for this. Sorry Shanny…

  17. Lovebird January 6, 2014

I’m sure it’ll have higher opening sales than Ciara.

Anyway I’m curious to hear what she has serving.

  18. JER January 6, 2014

Still with the Braveheart!!!?? STAWP!!!! Come up with something new. In the time since her last album, Rihanna has released 4 albums and will have released 5 I’m sure. Just SMH.

  19. ENOUGH ONIKA (NEW & IMPROVED) January 6, 2014

I liked the other one better honestly. But it doesn’t matter, Ashanti time to SCRAP THIS ALBUM!!! It’s been like FIVE YEARS!! People are BEYOND over this. You need a completely new start (even though you barely got the last one started)…

  20. Lana Del Bey January 6, 2014

it’s an improvement from the other one which was hideous to say the least, sorry Pocahontas. I don’t see much more increasing relevance with Ashanti, even in her hayday she was a lucky girl just like rihanna is now, someone have her the hits back in the day but tbh any other girl could of done it just as good, anyway prove me wrong ashanti

  21. Theman January 6, 2014

This independent thing doesn’t work for her.. She needs to sign to a major label, work with fresh producers, create some catchy hiphop/r&b tunes with pop undertones.. She should also work with a few great collaborators male/female.. Lastly, that “Braveheart” title needs to go.. She definitely needs a few instant smashes..

  22. ROSEGOLD January 6, 2014

Her first two albums were everything back in the day. She lost her mojo somewhere along the way, and she needs to get it back.

  23. jimmy January 6, 2014

Ashanti looks amazing (All Natural) this is a real Woman folks ! Ill b supporting Braveheart !

  24. credits January 6, 2014

She can slay all the photoshoots in the world, because we all know she is pretty but we don’t want to see photos, where’s the music? but now that i am thinking about it, the only thing that has been right with the braveheart campaign is the photoshoots….aside from the album cover itself. I’m worried she’ll spend more money than she will generate with this independent album. i was at the gym the other day and i heard “woman you love” playing, i was cheering for her in my head.

  25. BEYONCÉ January 6, 2014

    Who?

  26. kareem January 6, 2014

    I love you

  27. Beyond Amazing (Cause Bey really is!) January 7, 2014

I guess. she just needs to gone head and release the album at let it do what it’s going to do.

  28. FutureCIARA January 7, 2014

As much as I want to tell this girl to hang it up,

I give her A for Determination and Persistence.

Atleast she’s not trying to be like Amerie, or Cassie, Or Teairra Marie

  29. Navy Commander January 7, 2014

    That album cover lmao
