Responsible for building the infrastructure Lady GaGa employed to ‘reach the top’, Troy Carter has now set his sights on Miguel‘s career, taking him under his influential wing by welcoming him to his ‘Atom Factory’ management company.
Billboard reports:
“Troy Carter’s Atom Factory has signed John Mayer and Miguel as management clients, Billboard has learned, finalising deals that began in late 2013 with each artist. Miguel has been part of the roster since mid-November, having split with previous firm Red Light, while talks with Mayer began shortly after the singer parted ways with longtime manager Michael McDonald in early December.
Both follow the news from early November that Carter and top client Lady Gaga split after more than five years together.
Carter, reached by Billboard, confirmed the news but declined to comment on the signings, as did reps for Miguel and Mayer.”
Signing with the company after watching his ‘Beautiful’ duet with Mariah Carey rain Platinum showers, Miguel‘s ‘power move’ comes one year after his signature single ‘Adorn’ picked up the ‘Best R&B Song’ award at the 55th annual Grammy Awards.
Pulled from second studio album ‘Kaleidoscope Dream‘, ‘Adorn’s success undoubtedly played a major part in Carter‘s decision to pick up the performer, doing so months after steering Lady GaGa‘s latest LP ‘ARTPOP’ to #1 in the US and sales of over 1 million units worldwide since its November 11th release date!
