Chris Brown & K.Michelle Dominate iTunes R&B With New Releases

Published: Sunday 2nd Feb 2014 by David

Her work may have been overlooked by the 2014 Grammy committee, but that hasn’t stopped the general public’s support of R&B heartbeat K.Michelle this year.

Rebuilding her career with the bricks and mortar that are ‘Love & Hip Hop‘ and undeniably strong material, the ‘For Coloured Girls’ performer is now the star of her self-penned success story, joining Tamar Braxton and Fantasia to become one of the genre’s more lucrative ladies.

So, why we’d say a number of her sonic siblings have a thing or two to learn from her today?

After featuring heavily in ‘Love & Hip Hop New York’s season finale last week, Michelle’s latest single ‘Can’t Raise a Man’ reached an audience of 4.2 million viewers upon the show’s airing.

The result? Another Top 5 hit. This time, scored on the competitive iTunes R&B tally where the jam now resides at #5, as sales of its ‘Rebellious’ album wink at the 300,000 unit mark.

Elsewhere, Chris Brown continues to reign supreme on the very same chart with 17 entries! These, generated by official releases and remixes birthed by the free-spirited Pop prince. At #6 sits his club smash ‘Love More’, as ‘Loyal‘s original serving spends all of its time at #8, looking down on its West Coast remix which ‘turns up’ at #9!

As if that wasn’t enough, #24 plays host to ‘Fine China’ while #35 finds itself tied to 2011’s ‘Look At Me Now‘, which sits 13 spots above the baby-making anthem that is ‘Take You Down.’
