One’s got to give it to Jason Derulo.
For, while a number (if not all) of his contemporaries have made the mistake of sullying their brands in their quests for “credibility”, the last year has seen the ‘Tattoo” artist hold on to his ‘All American’ nature and repackage himself as a cooler, fresher and a little more Urban version of himself.
Impressive, as this organic transition has come without the side order of ‘try hard’ that currently plagues Justin Bieber’s public image, and turned him into Warner’s multi-format boy next door, nabbing sizeable spins on “Power 106″ and “Capital FM” alike!
Now watch as he joins ‘Complex’ magazine for their ‘Complex Individuals’ series, dishing on his musical tastes, embarrassing moments and what he hopes to be doing should the apocalypse swing by.
But how many copies has he sold from his album? And from his previous one? No shade to him cos he must be such a nice man but all he has is a “for the moment” itunes hit.
good for him, but i still find his music utterly forgettable… without googling, i can’t name one song that he has done.
Neither can I @stan. His music is trash, but very hot 100 friendly.
The next big thing. You guys worry about sales too much. If he’s writing his hits, than he’s getting paid more money that way. You think Pit Bull and Flo Rida is broke? I bet they get more cash than you fave with those hits.
I love him,he’s such a nice guy & his song are all mosly really nice. Congrats to him on his amazing year he’s been having.
