It may have taken it longer than her fans would have liked, but it would appear Lana Del Rey‘s ‘Born to Die‘ debut now stands no more than 4,000 units from hitting the 1 million units sold mark in the USA!
Want the 411 on her impending Platinum glory?
Come with us…
Opening with 77,000 units in the US, Lana’s ‘Born’ has spent the last two years gliding towards the 1 million milestone and now has the enviable prize in her sights, after its sales twirled past the 996,000 units mark last week.
As it stands, the LP is now placed just 4,000 copies away from reaching the spot, looking on as Lorde‘s ‘Pure Heroine‘ touches down at global sales of 2,021,000 copies and Katy Perry‘s ‘Prism’ sings to the merry tune of 2,615,000 units!
Elsewhere, last week brought with it 2,000 more units moved by Lady GaGa‘s ‘ARTPOP‘, placing it at #156 on the ‘Billboard 200′ and pushing its US sales to 677,000!
Expected to benefit from the release of its second supporting music video, ‘POP’ joins ‘Born’ on its quest for Platinum ground, with 323,000 copies to sell before it arrives there.
Meanwhile, on a singles tip, last week saw Iggy Azalea‘s ‘Fancy’ slip eight spots to claim the #96 spots on the ‘Hot 100’ while Ciara‘s ‘Body Party’ continues on its journey to reach the ‘Platinum promised land’, before the release of her sixth studio album and first baby with ‘Honest’ performer Future.
