Two years removed from the release of seventh album ‘Looking for Myself’, Usher rolls up his sleeves and gears up to get to work on the promo campaign for its follow-up, set for release this year.
Now, before fans learn of its title and enjoy it’s R&B-driven sound, the name of its lead single has been unveiled today.

Announced by the head of BBC Radio 1 and 1xtra George Ergatoudis, the name of the star’s new single is ‘Good Kisser’, chosen to lead an album many hope will lock lips with ‘Confessions’-sized sales upon its release!

@Richie_Rich, Can people PLEASE stop bringing up JT??? Justin is reaping the benefits of a successful album and is on a sold out world tour while Usher is trying to get people to trust him in buying his music again. One released his 3rd/4th album (depending on how you look at the 20/20 Experience) while one is on his 8th project. I’m a fan of both so I can be objective. This comparison is so 2000’s and it needs to be dropped. One being successful doesn’t equate the other being the opposite. They’re in quite different lanes and the only reason why people like starting crap is because for the first time in over a decade (2001’s 8701 and 2002’s Justified) they’re in the music industry at the same time. So, unless you’re content on using decade-old receipts, stop trying to compare them because it’s not a good look (for Mr. Raymond) as of today.

Confessions was four albums ago. In the music business, you’re only as good as the sales of your most *recent* album. We all know Usher’s commercial peak was bigger than Justin’s, but his commercial decline has been worse too. If the two of them were to release an album on the same day now, who would be more likely to move the more sales that first week? A year later whose album will more likely have sold the most? This ain’t 2005. Confessions doesn’t dictate Usher’s sales trajectory anymore; Looking For Myself does.

1. No one would be talking about Justin in the first place if certain silly commenters here hadn’t brought him up out of the blue, just to smear him. Timberlake is completely irrelevant to the topic, but rather than keep the excitement focused squarely on this latest news about Usher, the bitchy queens here at TGJ instead tries to use it to smear an artist totally unrelated to him. No one is acting like a “JT booty sniffer” (how very 3rd grade of you, by the way.) The real “haters” here are those anti-JT zealots who decided to give phony kudos to Usher simply to slight another singer. Sounds to me like you’re not even a real Usher fan, you just have some peculiar grudge against Justin and are pretending to be ‘Team Usher’ to extol it. You probably didn’t even buy Usher’s last album.
2. Learn the difference between an underperformance and flop. Beyonce’s ‘4’ album didn’t match her previous album sales, or live up to full previous commercial expectation, but it sold a million copies and was RIAA certified platinum in the US (a feat Usher’s previous album did not do, real talk)…which for the past 3-5 years has been the current performance standard for a ‘hit album’. When you take into account that it was an R&B album, and the only and last thoroughly R&B album to go platinum since 2011 before her current album, it was actually a feat for her…even if it didn’t produce “Crazy In Love” results.
Every artist has a “peak,” and they all are going to dip from it at some point. But if an album released performs to decent market/sales criteria, which ‘4’ did, then it isn’t a “flop.”
3. I don’t know about you, but I can’t be “manipulated” into buying a $16 album. Those who bought Beyonce’s current album did it because they wanted it. Marketing and commercial success is a strategic game for all artists/performers and their camps, and Beyonce’s played it well with her latest album.
4. Grow up.
