As earlier reported, Mariah Carey is Wonderland magazine’s latest cover-star.
The 44-year-old appears in the publication to promote her new album ‘Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse’ which struts into stores on May 27th.
Since the unwrapping of the cover, more snaps from the Terry Richardson lensed shoot have surfaced.
Watch Mimi work it for the camera after the jump…
And the one endearing snap from the pack…
Oh Mimi.
This incessant peddling of a sex appeal that long expired continues to grate.
Make no mistake, she is a beautiful woman. Stunning, in fact. Yet, for many, she’s perceived and received as being a “lady”, a diva, and by her own definition an ‘elusive chanteuse’. Why she seems so adamant to shove her particulars in everyone’s face is anyone’s guess; especially when she (and her garments) look “uncomfortable” while doing so.
Her recent album covers, ala the one below, straddle the line between comical and fierce. However, photoshoots such the one above are just…unfortunate.
As of late, Mariah has been telling anyone who’ll listen that “it’s the music that matters most”. Yet, in 2014’s industry, so too does one’s image. Her’s, from our vantage point, needs rehabilitation. And fast.
