It was set to mark one of her grandest performances to date.
Alas, in news that’s set to shock many today, Jennifer Lopez‘ performance at the ‘ 2014 FIFA World Cup’ opening ceremony has been cancelled!
Full story below…
Citing “production issues” as her grounds for cancellation, football’s governing body ‘FIFA’ revealed that the singer will no longer perform at the event’s opening ceremony today, despite serving as a supporting vocalist on its Pitbull-led theme tune, ‘We Are One (Ole Ola).’
Announced days before the June 12th release of her eighth studio album, Lopez’ pulling out of the show will now see her ‘One’ collaborators Pitbull and Claudia Leitte take to the stage at Arena Corinthians, São Paulo without her, come June 12th.
Why the star’s boyfriend Casper Smart is now being billed as Lopez’ “production issue”?
Unfortunate to say the very least, one wonders just how ‘AKA’ will fare without the performance that would have seen it pushed to a global audience.
