Report: Shakira To Perform At World Cup Closing Ceremony

Published: Saturday 28th Jun 2014 by Sam

For many, Shakira‘s ‘La La (Brazil 2014)’ has become “the” definitive song for the World Cup.

Indeed, despite Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, and Claudia Leitte‘s ‘We Are One’ being handed that honor in an official capacity, the lukewarm reaction to the track locally and globally has seen many embrace Shaki’s effort more.

As such, the masses will likely be elated to learn that the hip-swivelling singer has been tapped to perform the track at the World Cup Closing Ceremony.

Confirmation comes courtesy of Billboard, who keenly spotlight the difference in popularity between both songs.

No stranger to serving up the heat for the soccer extravaganza, Shakira provided the official theme for the 2010 competition – the gargantuan smash ‘Waka Waka’. A point which perhaps confirms why she should have been selected again this year from the onset.
