Following a statement from FIFA yesterday, it appeared Jennifer Lopez‘s team scored an own-goal yesterday by cancelling the diva’s performance at the World Cup Opening Ceremony.
After all, with new album ‘A.K.A’ due in stores next week, the global visibility alone is the kind of promotion most artists dream of.
Thankfully, it seems this is a memo Team J.Lo now understand. Because, in a sensational turn-around, they have confirmed that the stage blazer will indeed be living up to her billing and performing ‘We Are One (Ole Ola)‘ at the Brazilian extravaganza alongside Pitbull and Claudia Leitte.
Details below…
Released via PEOPLE, a statement from the singer’s camp read:
“Jennifer has always wanted to participate in the World Cup opening ceremonies. We have been trying to work out scheduling and logistics. Any statements to the contrary were premature. Jennifer would not want to disappoint her fans or fans of futbol. She will be there.”
There has been suggestion from some corners that the “real” issue was supposedly money and how many of the star’s entourage would be taken care of. Who knows. What is certain is that La Lopez will be rocking the stage like only she can on June 12th.
