That’s what many are whispering after Cheryl Cole announced her secret marriage to her boyfriend of three months today.
Taking to Instagram, the British chart-topper revealed that she and French lover Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini tied the knot this month; news that comes a week before she releases her comeback single…the aptly titled ‘Crazy Stupid Love’.

Love is love and happiness is happiness, so who are we to judge. That said, the timing of this feels incredibly “interesting”. Even more so when considering that a) ‘Crazy Stupid’ is due out in a week, b) isn’t fairing amazingly on pre-orders or radio, and c) has generally received a mixed response from critics. The marriage will ensure that she’s in the headlines for (at least) a week and thus solidly serves as the kind of promo money couldn’t buy. Coincidence? Who knows. A major help? You betcha.
The union is Cole’s second marriage; she previously tied the knot with UK soccer star Ashley Cole in 2006 (divorcing him four years later). Color us cynical, but that union too also came at the most convenient of times. For those wondering why, Google has the answers. Wink wink.
