Janet Jackson is back!
Six years after the release of her last LP ‘Discipline’, the ‘Escapade’ singer has commenced work on its hotly anticipated follow-up.
Teased by sources close to her creative camp for months, today saw its existence confirmed by her longtime engineer in a new interview published today.
Last week, viewers of the YouTube channel ‘Ballroom Throwbacks’ were teased with Janet’s comeback album when its producer interviewed choreographer Danielle Polanco, who looked on as one of the channel’s staples hinted at the icon’s comeback.
Then this week, an interview given by Ian Cross– Jackson’s longtime collaborator- revealed the news the singer’s legion’s of fans have been praying (and fasting) for:
Ian Cross is currently working exclusively with Janet Jackson on her forthcoming much anticipated album, her first since “Discipline” (2008). To accommodate Jackson’s touring and recording all over the world, Cross has devised a powerful portable recording setup with Barefoot Sound MM27 monitors to assure sonic consistency wherever they choose to work.
“The new album is going to be great. It’s a process. There’s a lot in store, yet to come. I can’t go into too many details but I think Janet Jackson’s fans are going to be very excited about the new album, and I think people who don’t know her as fans are going to be excited about it, too. The new paradigm of music, the real people in music now, are blending technology and music together. It’s becoming more and more seamless.” Source.
Sources close to That Grape Juice tell us that the entertainer will release the record via a major label, and recently recorded original material in Atlanta, Georgia.
