‘Unusual You’ performer Britney Spears has been blasted by members of her fan base this week, following a technical mishap that saw her lip sync to another singer’s vocals during a performance of her single ‘Perfume.’
What went down?
Full story below…
During a performance put on at Las Vegas’ ‘Planet Hollywood‘ on a Saturday night, fans of the ‘Toxic’ singer found themselves struck with awe when the star took to the stage to perform the aforementioned ‘Perfume’, which appears on her latest LP ‘Britney Jean.’
Their problem? Her voice…which was not her own.
Unfortunately, thanks to a technical glitch she seemed to be unaware of as she performed, the vocals of Sia (the song’s writer) played out to her fans as she moved her lips to what she believed was a recording of her own voice.
How this could have happened?
‘Billboard’ explains:
If you listen closely to the performance video, you can make out some of Spears’ vocals under Sia’s more charactered voice. That’s because, most likely, Spears uses Sia’s track as a in-monitor guide when she sings. Only this time it was put into the house mix, making for an embarrassing accident.
