Weeks after they reportedly booted Danity Kane‘s Dawn Richard from its cast, VH1’s forthcoming series ‘Love & Hip Hop LA’ has allegedly enlisted rapper Soulja Boy and Urban radio power player Yesi Ortiz to save what some sources are billing “a production nightmare.”
Details below…
After sources from within the show’s camp tipped TGJ off on Ortiz‘ supposed joining of the show, the series has now joined forces with ‘Crank That’ rapper Soulja to deliver ratings-grabbing story lines for its first season, following the arrival of ‘Love & Hip Hop New York’ and its Southern sister ‘Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.’
TMZ shares:
Soulja Boy‘s getting a heavy dose of reality … TMZ has learned the “Crank That” rapper’s just been added to the cast of “Love & Hip Hop: L.A” — in a last-ditch effort to pump some life into the show.
Sources close to production tell us … the show’s been struggling with weak story lines and uninteresting characters … and producers felt they needed to add a big name rapper to liven things up.
Right now … Ray J is the biggest star on “L&HHLA” … and producers think he and Soulja Boy will be a huge hit together. Sources close to Ray J say he’s pumped about his new co-star.
Boy’s arrival on ‘LA‘ will come after R&B singer Omarion was also linked to the ‘Hip Hop’ family. Interesting, as reliable word tells us that his former B2K band member Raz B has also made moves to secure a spot on its cast list from China, where he is currently based.
In details spilled to us last week, the entertainer has set his sights on the show’s production company, Monami Entertainment, hoping to see his success as an entrepreneur in Asia showcased on the show!
This, following the launch of his own shoe line in the market, his recent decision to manage three members of group B5 overseas and charity work our source says the singer has been committed to after rebuilding his life away from the US.
