After co-writing every single song on her debut album ‘The New Classic‘, Azalea caught the attention of ATV who picked her up before the album’s relaunch.
On the deal, Martin Bandier, Sony/ATV Chairman and CEO, said:
We are incredibly excited to be working with such a fresh and electrifying new talent as Iggy Azalea. She is an incredibly smart and dynamic songwriter and artist and has made an amazing start to what looks set to be a long and successful career ahead.
With this deal, Iggy will see her material protected by the company and paired with its other writers to create ‘Fancy’-sized hits for she and her record label Def Jam.
An elated Sarah Stennett of Turn First Artists shared:
The completion of this partnership agreement with Sony/ATV, Grand Hustle and Iggy continues the original mission that we at Turn First had agreed to with Iggy the day we met her: to only enter into relationships with people who truly support the vision and believe in her staying power, ability to write and deliver exciting records and her potential to grow as an artist and cultural icon.
Other writers represented by ‘ATV’ are ‘Next to Me’ performer Emeli Sande, ‘Drift’ singer Elijah Blake and Ms.Andrea Martin, the songsmith behind SWV’s ‘You’re the One’, Blu Cantrell’s ‘Breathe’, Fantasia’s ‘Lose to Win’ and En Vogue’s ‘Don’t Let Go.’
