Given that Nadine Coyle served as Girls Aloud‘s only talented singer, the assumption would be that her former bandmates would, at the very least, offer a base-level of respect. After all, despite the group’s well-documented issues, the fact remains that it’s her voice alone that is most synonymous the band’s sound.
However, with solo projects to promote, it seems protocol has been thrown out of the window.
Cheryl Cole, whose new album ‘Only Human’ dances into stores next Monday, has sensationally slammed Coyle in a freshly published interview with Attitude Magazine.
Details below…
The X Factor star’s shocking words came as response to a question relating to Coyle’s recent assertion that she didn’t want the group to split after their reunion tour last year and that she had nothing to do with it.
Speaking on the matter, the newly married maven hissed:
“She’s full of sh*t. What d’you want us to say? She’s full of sh*t. She was the one who wanted to make a solo record. Which is why we took the [initial] hiatus.
She wants to come out and say we broke the band up? No! She shouldn’t tell porkie pies. She should remember why we took the hiatus after seven years so she could go and…[make a solo project]
Okay, so do you want us to tell the truth? She wasn’t going to make another Girls Aloud record until she got a solo deal. I feel she held us to ransom [back then] and then made her solo record deal.
It’s the truth. She’s saying that we broke the band up [this time]. So there you go.” {Source}
What a mucky, mucky mess.
Clearly the memo about what happens in the kitchen stays in the kitchen was missed by most of Girls Aloud – Nadine and Cheryl especially.
Why must the masses become privy to the behind the scenes drama? It only serves to diminish their reputation and the good memories held by supporters.
Ridiculous all round.
