Katy Perry Releases ‘Superbowl’ Commercial / Throws Jabs At Lady GaGa?

Katy Perry‘s Superbowl status was garnished with a coating of official tonight. For, this evening brought with it a Pepsi sponsored commercial plugging her spot as the confirmed headliner for the 2015 Half-Time Show.

The tongue in cheek spot sees the Pop star playfully prod at different concepts for the fifteen minute spectacle, which takes place February 1st, 2015 at the Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Interestingly, during the course of the clip, the ‘Dark Horse’ singer arguably takes a dig at rival Lady GaGa. Although, we’ll leave that to you decide. All we’ll say is “bacon” and “meat dress”. It’ll make sense after the jump…

Though we’re still pessimistic about the prospect of Perry showing in comparison to past performers, the ad did warm us to the idea…somewhat. She’s quirky, fun, and has an interesting point of difference.

As for the arguable GaGa remark, it wouldn’t be entirely far-fetched for Katy to use her platform to tug at Mother Monster. After all, the latter did quite publicly come for her last year. Remember?

Randomness: We’d love to see GaGa rock the ‘Bowl sooner rather than later. She, along with the likes of Pink, are well overdue if acts such as Katy and Bruno Mars are securing slots. Anyway, enough of our rambling…
