Indeed, sans select studio snaps, the only indication that the diva’s new album is nigh has been her well-timed return to Instagram and the slew of new photoshoots that followed.
However, in a new interview, Ne-Yo has revealed that he has had sessions with the 26-year-old – adding that what he’s heard of the rest of the LP is “incredible”.

Some will inevitably side-eye, but Ne-Yo is only calling it like it is when it comes to the strains Beyonce’s success places on Rih’s LP . To suggest anything but that would be inaccurate.
And that’s not to be one-sided, because it works in reverse too. Indeed, there’s no doubt Ms. Fenty’s various triumphs (no matter how undeserved) created a necessity for Bey and many others to consistently bring their A-game.
Folk can harp on about “there being space for everybody”, kumbaya, blah blah. However, there is only one top spot. And with the teams of so many artists politicking to ensure their act grabs or sustains it, the safest means of succeeding is to see what the competition is serving and do better, be better.
Whether Rihanna has internalized that will be intriguing to see, as will the fate of Ne-Yo’s material for the project.
